I recently had the pleasure of working with Susan Wilson of Susan Wilson Home Colour on the interior design of the main floor of our townhouse.From day one Susan understood our vision of what we wanted our living space to look like. Susan worked tirelessly to find the many beautiful furniture pieces, both vintage and new, as well as sourcing the perfect customized pieces, like the one-of-a-kind ash dining table. Added to this were the elegant sofa and chairs, lovely cushions, etc. Susan chose the perfect paint colour and helped us select beautiful flooring, which we love! Susan also incorporated some of our own items, namely some paintings done by my husband's mother into the design, which turned out beautifully.Susan also redesigned our galley kitchen, turning a 1980s bland look into a stunning area with floor to ceiling pantry, double farmhouse sink, quartz countertops, to name a few items.Let's not forget the powder room! Susan led us out of our comfort zone to go bold and in the process created a stunning room.Thank you Susan for creating the perfect space for us and even giving the style a cool name, "refined rustic". We love it!

Best thing we ever did! Our house is the home we dreamed of, but didn’t know how to create it! Susan listened to what our lifestyle was, what we wanted the rooms to be used for and ended up creating three stunning rooms for us. A living room, den and family room, each with their own appeal and character, but fitting our casual lifestyle. I loved working with her. There was never any pressure and always lots of choices and interaction. Our initial introduction was through colour consultation, which led to her creating a beautiful home for us. I cannot say enough about how great it was to work with Susan. We did an E-Design since I do not live in the area. I had struggled for quite some time to find just the right colors and design for my home. Working with her was so simple. She asked for some photos of my space and some inspiration photos I would like for my home. With a few days she emailed a beautiful plan of suggestions to follow. The colors and Ideas she sent were exactly what I was looking for. She totally understood just what my home needed. I am so excited to paint and move forward with the rest of the design plan she gave me. I should have consulted with her sooner. Worth every penny! 'I have worked with Susan for over a year now - she has helped us renovate our bathrooms and most recently our kitchen/living room/dining room and front entrance way and exterior of our home. Here's my take on design...YOU have a style, but sometimes you need a helping hand to remind you, to flush it out a bit, to enhance it, to push you out of your comfort zone a tad. That is where a Susan Wilson comes in... Susan takes the time to define the style you have within, to push you out of the box just a bit (hey, we all want to be hip!), to keep you on budget and to harmonize your project within your existing home and lifestyle. Susan did all of this, and so much more, for our family. Helping us undertake a major kitchen renovation in a century-old Ottawa farmhouse, she eased our lives immensely by giving us guidance on important decisions and by keeping us on track with both our budget and our vision. We now have a beautiful kitchen, one that meets the needs of our lifestyle and that blends well with the historic nature of our home. Most importantly, a kitchen that reflects our character and style. It feels like, and is, OUR kitchen.

'Susan came to our home as we needed help to upgrade our bathrooms from the 70's. She worked hard with us to determine what we wanted in the two bathrooms and came up with a game plan to achieve our vision. We were very impressed with her attention to detail, no item was to small, and worked with us on things we had not even considered. She worked hand in hand with our contractor on every detail, made suggestions, came up with original ideas about how to accomplish what we wanted, we often heard from him, "what does Suzy thing should be done here", as he really appreciated her input. Her sense of colors and her eye for matching up pieces to make everything flow was perfect.
